This course – now in an online, self-paced format – expands on APA#1, and covers how to formalize those hardware hacks into a more formal penetration testing workflow, in addition to covering some more advanced attacks.

What’s Included:
You’ll get immediate access to the online materials on this site. This includes:
- Video lectures presenting each topic
- Instructions for completing each of the hands-on labs
- Hints, tips, and additional references to point you in the right direction or fill in any background you might be missing
- Walkthroughs or discussions for each lab
You’ll have full access to support for 3 months, We find this to be long enough to work on the course bit-by-bit, but short enough to encourage you to get it done. This includes:
- Support via email, forum, or 1:1 appointments
- Help debugging hardware or software issues with labs
- Replacement for any hardware broken while working on the labs
Beyond 3 months, you’ll continue to have access to the current course material, but the materials may evolve and be updated over time.
In order to complete the class you’ll need the hardware kit. This includes:
- Tigard serial protocol interface board
- Bitmagic logic analyzer
- Xiaomao microcontroller development board*
- USB digital microscope
- Compact multimeter
- Zippered pouch with all necessary wires, cables, and clips
- Target #1: a solid state drive*
- Target #2: a custom ‘smart’ thermostat device*
Note: The add-on kit only includes the bold* items as the others are already a part of your APA1 kit.

- Note: It is possible to complete the course on MacOS with homebrew. It is not possible to complete all the labs using windows or a VM, you will encounter difficulties that we aren’t able to support/debug.
Variations:
Ship My Kit: You’ll get immediate access to the online content, and your kit will ship as soon as possible. Most people – domestic and international – get them within a week.
Add on to my APA1 Kit: If you already took APA#1, you’ll get access to the APA#2 content, but you’ll get only the add-on hardware toolkit. Currently discounted for a limited time.
I already have a complete APA2 kit: If you’re using a secondhand kit, or received a kit with a coupon code, choose this to just register your online access and we won’t ship anything.
Both APA1 and APA2, ship both kits: You’ll get all the hardware and online access to both classes, plus full support for 6 months total.
